The amendments to the 2020-2024 public holidays of Costa Rica, which moves the 2020-2024 Costa Rican public holidays to adjoin a nearby weekend, has been gazetted in paragraph 185 of Law No. 9875 as gazetted in La Gaceta number 175.
Recall that, earlier this month (2020-07-02), the aforementioned law was approved in second and final reading, by the Costa Rican legislature. That legislation was introduced in the Costa Rican legislature, a couple of months ago (2020-04-22), to transfer the remaining Costa Rican public holidays of 2020 and 2021 to Fridays, in order to promote internal tourism, and later expanded to include 2022, 2023 and 2024 public holidays as presented by the Minister of Tourism of Costa Rica, María Amalia Revelo (2020-05-07).
The legislation was later approved by the economic affairs commission of the Costa Rican legislature (2020-06-02), and was later approved in its first reading (2020-06-17).
