Ghana's Government has announced that Sunday, May 24, 2020, had been declared as the date of the upcoming 2020 annual Eid-Ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan) non-working public holiday in Ghana.

In addition to the aforementioned declaration of Sunday, May 24, 2020, as a public holiday in Ghana, "The general public is hereby notified that Sunday, May 24, 2020 marks EID-AL-FITR which is a Statutory Public Holiday. However, 24th May, 2020 falls on a Sunday and by Executive Instrument (EI), His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, in accordance with section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, 2001 (601) has declared Monday 25th May, 2020 as a public holiday".

The aforementioned declaration of Sunday and Monday, May 24-25, 2020, as the date of the upcoming 2020 annual Eid-Ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan) non-working public holiday in Ghana, is in line with past announcements (2019-05-31, 2018-06-14, 2017-06-19, 2016-06-30, 2015-07-17, 2015-07-13, 2014-07-21, 2013-08-05, 2012-08-16, 2011-08-26,2008-09-25,2007-12-15, 2010-09-07, 2009-09-15, 2008-12-03 and 2007-10-10), though last year it was made online rather than by an official announcement, and thus amends the list of official 2020 non-working public holidays in Ghana, announced earlier this year (2020-01-05).
