Guyana's Vice President and Minister of Public Security, Khemraj Ramjattan, has released an Extraordinary Gazette declaring Tuesday, May 26, 2020, as a public holiday in Guyana ("Pursuant To The Provisions Of Section 6 Of The Public Holidays Act, Chapter 19:07, Of The Laws Of Guyana, Tuesday May 26, 2020 Is Hereby Declared A Public Holiday").
The announcement that Tuesday, May 26, 2020, would be a public holiday in Guyana, is in line with the annual list of Guyanese bank holidays and non-working public holidays in Guyana for the calendar year 2020 as released by the government of Guyana, last autumn (2019-12-01).
