The Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan, through its Minister, Ulugbek Kochkorov, has confirmed that it does not plan to revise the list of 2020 public holidays, as announced in a government decision in December 2019, and therefore that the upcoming expected public holiday on May 11 would be moved to May 4, instead.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan had already confirmed, last month (2020-03-06), that no additional, day in lieu, public holiday would be observed in Kyrgyzstan on Monday, March 9, 2020, despite the annual International Women's Day public holiday of Kyrgyzstan falling on a Sunday in 2020.
The month before (2020-01-26), a similar announcement was made, reminding the public in Kyrgyzstan that the expected February 24, 2020, public holiday had been moved to Thursday, January 2, 2020.
These 3 aforementioned announcements follow from last year's decree by the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Muhammedkaly Abylgaziev (постановление правительства о переносе выходных дней в целях рационального использования работниками выходных и нерабочих праздничных дней в 2020 году), officializing the list of non-working public holidays in Kyrgyzstan for the calendar year 2020 (2019-12-16 and 2019-10-15).
