Liberian Elections Day Public Holiday December 8

The President of Liberia, George Manneh Weah, has issued a proclamation declaring Tuesday, December 8, 2020, as a non-working public holiday, "Elections Day", to be observed as public holiday throughout Liberia, on account of that date's three categories of elections: the National Referendum, the Senatorial Elections, as well as two by-elections.

The declaration of one-off non-working public holidays in Liberia on account of election-related events has occurred regularly over the past years (2018-07-29, 2017-12-22, 2017-10-06, 2014-12-15, 2012-04-23, 2012-01-13, 2011-10-06, 2011-08-09, 2011-01-28, 2009-11-23, 2009-11-09, 2009-04-08, and 2005-10-07).
