Moldova's National Trade Union Confederation has rekindled a proposal to create a new 3-day annual public holiday in Moldova, from December 31 to January 2, inclusively "to allow employees to devote more time to their family, health, favorite tasks, which will improve their health, raise their morale, help them to later tackle their professional tasks more energetically and efficiently".
Recall that, a few years ago (2017-12-07), the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection of the government of Moldova had similarly announced a proposal to amend Article 111 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Moldova, whereby December 31 to January 2 would become new annual non-working public holidays in Moldova, to be compensated by the cancellation of 2 of Moldova's current annual public holidays.
