Mozambique's Minister of Labour (Ministra do Trabalho, Emprego e Segurança Social - MITESS), Margarida Adamugy Talapa, has announced that Thursday, December 31, 2020, would be a half-day non-working public sector holiday in Mozambique ("to allow better preparation for the celebration of the first day of the year 2021").
As per the aforementioned announcement, and as per custom (2019-12-30, 2016-12-19, 2015-12-30, 2014-12-22, 2013-12-21 and 2012-12-21), the upcoming one-off non-working public holiday in Mozambique "does not extend to workers whose nature of work does not allow for interruption and where a disruption would negatively affect the public interest".
Last week, Minister Adamugy Talapa had similarly announced that Thursday, December 24, 2020, would be a full-day non-working public sector holiday in Mozambique (2020-12-22).
