The aforementioned announcement is in line with the list of 2020 public holidays in Pakistan, as announced, late last year (2019-12-06).

Recall that, last year (2019-05-19), at a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee for Science and Technology, the same minister Chaudhry had announced that a new 5 years lunar calendar would soon be finalized, allowing for a longer-term forecast of annual non-working public holidays in Pakistan (2019-01-09, 2018-01-27, 2016-12-25, 2016-02-01, 2015-01-12, 2014-01-09, 2013-04-02, 2012-01-15).
