The Communication Directorate of Paraguay's presidency has announced that no year-end public sector holidays would be declared this year ("los funcionarios estatales deberán cumplir su horario laboral que rige en esta pandemia: de 08:00 a 15:00. Solo podrán descansar el 25 de diciembre y el 1 de enero, que son los feriados establecidos por Ley").
Year-end public sector holidays have often been declared in Paraguay in the past.
Last year (2019-12-10), President Mario Abdo Benítez signed the executive decree No.3.018 declaring Tuesday, December 24, and Tuesday, December 31, 2019, a one-off public sector holidays in Paraguay, in addition to the list of annual non-working public holidays in Paraguay for 2019 as announced the preceding year (2018-12-22), and the year before, (2018-12-11), the same President Benítez issued the decree No.848, similarly declaring Monday, December 24, and Monday, December 31, 2018, as one-off public sector holidays in Paraguay, in addition to the list of annual non-working public holidays in Paraguay for 2018 as announced the preceding year (2017-11-21).
