The Government of India's state of Punjab has declared that the upcoming gazetted public holiday of Baisakhi on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, would be moved instead to the eve of the Baisakhi, on Tuesday, April 13, 2020, instead.
The aforementioned notification that Tuesday, April 13, 2020, the eve of the Baisakhi, would be a public holiday in the Indian state of Punjab, thus further amends (2020-04-07) the previously-released annual list of "the days which will be non-working public holidays in India's state of Punjab for the upcoming calendar year 2020", as contained in the notification issued by the Government of Punjab, covering Government Holidays and Restricted Holidays in India's state of Punjab for the calendar year 2020, late last year (2019-12-23).
The spokesperson for the Punjab Government added that "the gazetted holiday on April 14th, 2020 on the occasion of birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, will remain unchanged".
Earlier this month (2020-04-07), the Government of India's state of Punjab had announced an additional gazetted public holiday on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, on the occasion of birthday of Sri Guru Nabha Das, instead of the restricted holidays that had previously been announced ("the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nabha Das Ji was announced on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, instead of reserved leave").
