Qatar's Central Bank (QCB) has announced the dates of the upcoming Qatar bank holidays for the Eid al-Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holidays of Qatar, following last weekend's announcement of the public sector holidays for the same 2020 Eid al-Fitr public holidays of Qatar.
As per the aforementioned announcement by the Central Bank of Qatar, "the Eid Al Fitr holiday for all financial institutions in the country will start on Sunday, May 24, 2020, and will end on Thursday, May 28, 2020, provided that all financial institutions return to work before the public on Sunday, May 31, 2020".
Recall that, last weekend (2020-05-17), Qatar's Emiri Diwan extended the 2020 Eid al-Fitr public sector holidays, for ministries, government departments, general authorities and institutions for 12 consecutive days ("Eid holiday for ministries, other government entities and public institutions starts on Tuesday May 19, 2020 and ends on Thursday May 28, 2020. Employees are to resume their work on Sunday May 31, 2020"), an announcement that did not cover the Qatari banking and financial sector.
