Qatar's Amiri Diwan has announced that the period of annual non-working Qatar public holidays for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr (End of Ramadan), had once again been extended, this year for 12 consecutive days of public sector holidays.
As per today's announcement, the public sector holidays, for ministries, government institutions and public entities in Qatar, for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr (End of Ramadan), will be 12 consecutive days, from May 19, until May 31, 2020, inclusively ("Eid holiday for ministries, other government entities and public institutions starts on Tuesday May 19, 2020 and ends on Thursday May 28, 2020. Employees are to resume their work on Sunday May 31, 2020").
The Qatari public sector holidays, for ministries, other government departments, authorities and public institutions, for the Eid al-Fitr (End of Ramadan), lasted 11 days, for the past 6 years (2019-05-28, 2018-06-12, 2017-06-21, 2016-06-28, 2015-07-09 and 2014-07-23), while the year before that (2013-08-02) there were 13 consecutive days, and the year before, Qatar's Emiri Diwan had initially announced 11 days for the 2012 End of Ramadan public holidays (2012-08-04), but later extended it to 12 day (2012-08-14).
