The Government of Saint Helena has gazetted the EX GAZ 95 Proclamation Boxing Day, whereby Monday, December 27, 2021, is declared as a public holiday in Saint Helena ("Whereas 26 December 2021 falls on a Sunday and section 2(3) of that Ordinance provides that if a Public Holiday other than Christmas Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the Governor shall, by Proclamation, direct that either the preceding Friday or the following Monday be observed as a Public Holiday in lieu of that Saturday or Sunday").
The aforementioned declaration of Monday, December 27, 2021, as a non-working public holiday in Saint Helena, on account of December 26, 2021, falling on a Sunday, is framed in the following terms, "I, Philip Rushbrook, Governor of St Helena, acting in accordance with section 2(3) of the Public Holidays Ordinance, 1945, direct that Monday, 27 December 2021 shall be observed as a public holiday in lieu of 26 December 2021".
