The government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has declared Friday, November 6, 2020, as a one-off post-election public holiday ("Please note that tomorrow Friday November 6th, has been declared a public holiday").

The declaration of a one-off public holiday on Friday, November 6, 2020, further amends (2020-06-12 and 2020-05-14) the official list of bank holidays and non-working public holidays in St Vincent and the Grenadines for the calendar year 2020, as released earlier this year (2020-01-20), in accordance with the Public Holidays Act (Cap.206) and subsequent Public Holidays (Amendment) Bill, 2001 (2001-12-20, 2001-11-13, 2001-10-17 and 2001-01-11).

Such post-election public holidays are a common occurrence in many Caribbean countries (2018-03-21, 2017-12-18, 2015-05-09, 2015-04-23, 2015-02-17, 2014-11-06, 2014-06-12, 2013-02-20, 2010-12-13, 2010-02-16, 2010-01-26, 2010-01-10, 2009-12-30, 2009-12-19, 2009-09-08, 2009-03-13, 2005-02-22, 2005-05-05, 2005-02-22, 2003-05-21, 2003-10-21, 2003-11-27, 2007-01-02, 2001-12-03 and 1997-05-23), and the government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines had similarly announced that Tuesday, December 14, 2010, would be a one-off public holiday, following today's general elections the previous day's elections (2010-12-13).
