The public sector minister of the government of Togo, Gilbert Bawara, has issued a communiqué announcing that Saturday, February 22, 2020, had been declared a one-off non-working public holiday throughout the Togo on account of the upcoming presidential elections of the Togo.
As per the aforementioned communique: "Le Ministre de la fonction publique, du travail, de la réforme administrative et de la protection sociale porte à la connaissance des entreprises œuvrant dans les secteurs parapublic et privé que, conformément aux dispositions du code électoral, la journée du samedi 22 février 2020 est déclarée fériée, chômée et payée sur toute l’étendue du territoire national" and then goes on to state that "Les activités reprendront le lundi 24 février 2020 suivant les horaires habituels".
The aforementioned declaration of Saturday, February 22, 2020, as a one-off non-working electoral public holiday throughout the Togo, thus amends the previously-announced list of 2020 public holidays in the Togo (2020-01-06), as was also done on previous occasions (2018-12-18, 2013-07-09 and 2010-03-03).
