The government of Argentina has announced a reversal of its recent decision to move the upcoming May 24 public holiday to August 13, opting instead to tighten the Covid-19 restrictions for the next 10 days.

Earlier this month, the government of Argentina announced that the May 24, 2021, feriado con fines turísticos, established in the decree 947/2020, would be moved to Friday, August 13, 2021, to avoid a 4-day weekend during a peak of the current pandemic (2021-05-12).

The move of the May 24, 2021, bridge public holiday to August 13, was to be the subject of an upcoming Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU), and would have amended the list of 2021 public holidays in Argentina, as specified by last autumn's Decreto 947 -Establécense días feriados con fines turísticos (2020-11-27).
