Azerbaijan's parliamentary committee on legal policy and state-building is considering amendments to the bill "on Independence Day", whereby the May 28, Republic Day public holiday, would be renamed as Independence Day, while the annual Day of State Independence working holiday would be renamed as the Day of Restoration of Independence.
The aforementioned changes, if they came to pass, would not affect the list of 2021 public holidays in Azerbaijan which was published late last year (2020-12-18), and would not affect future years' lists of public holidays either, apart from a name change for the May 28 annual public holiday.
