Bangladesh's Election Commission has announced that January 27, 2021, the date of the upcoming Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) election, would not be declared a one-off public holiday.

The aforementioned elections were originally scheduled for March 29, 2020, but they were postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The declaration of Wednesday, January 27, 2021, as an additional one-off non-working public holiday in Bangladesh, if it had come to pass, would have amended the list of non-working public holidays in Bangladesh during the calendar year 2021, released last autumn (2020-11-27 and 2020-11-02) by the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
