Benin's Minister of Labour and the Public Sector, Adidjath Mathys, has released a communique announcing that the government of Bénin had declared Monday, May 24, 2021, as a non-working public holiday throughout Bénin on account of the upcoming Pentecost public holiday ("en raison de la célébration de la fête de Pentecôte").
As per the aforementioned communique, "En raison de la célébration de la fête de Pentecôte, la journée du lundi 24 mai 2021 est déclarée fériée, chômée et payée sur toute l’étendue du territoire national.".
The aforementioned declaration of Monday, May 24, 2021, as a non-working public holiday throughout Bénin, as in past years (2020-05-29, 2019-06-06 and 2019-05-27), is in line with the previously-announced list of annual non-working public holidays in the Benin for the calendar year 2021, as announced by the government of Benin, late last year (2020-12-31), as well as with the "loi n°90-019 du 27 juillet 1990 fixant les fêtes légales en République du Bénin".
