Benin's Minister of Labour and of the Public Sector, Adidjatou A. Mathys, has announced that the government of Bénin had declared Tuesday, July 20, 2021, as the public holiday throughout Bénin on account of the upcoming "fête de la Tabaski" (Feast of Sacrifice), in a communique signed by her Directeur de Cabinet, Victorin V. Honvoh.
The aforementioned declaration of Tuesday, July 20, 2021, as a public holidays in the Bénin, reads as follows "A l'occasion de la célébration de la fête de Tabaski et conformément aux dispositions de la loi n° 90-019 du 27 juillet 1990 fixant les fêtes légales en République du Bénin, la journée du mardi 20 juillet 2021 est déclarée fériée, chômée et payée sur toute l’étendue du territoire national.".
As on previous occasions (2020-07-30 and 2019-08-09), this is in line with the previously-announced list of annual non-working public holidays in the Benin for the calendar year 2021, as announced by the government of Benin, earlier this year (2020-12-31), as well as with the "loi n°90-019 du 27 juillet 1990 fixant les fêtes légales en République du Bénin" and seems, once more, to follow the Saudi Umm al-Qura Islamic calendar.
Note that banks will close early on Monday, July 19, 2021 ("Par conséquent, les banques travailleront en journée continue lundi 19 juillet 2021").
