Bermuda Mulls Flora Duffy Olympic Public Holiday

The government of Bermuda, has announced that it is considering how to commemorate Bermudan Flora Duffy’s recent gold medal at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.

The leader of Bermuda's Opposition, Cole Simons, has stated that the OBA would support "a National holiday to recognize Ms Duffy’s accomplishment".

Recall that, in 1979, Bermuda declared a one-off half-day public holiday to mark the victory of Gina Swainson at that year's Miss World Pageant.
