Bolivia's President, Luis Arce Catacora, has announced that he had approved a decree declaring August 12 as a new annual public holiday for the anniversary of the Tarijeño Chaco, for both the private and public sectors.

The aforementioned announcement reads: "Today in the Cabinet we approved DS 4568 that declares a holiday with suspension of public and private work activities in the Autonomous Region of Gran Chaco, every August 12, in fair recognition of the people of Chaco, commemorating the founding of the Gran Chaco Province".

The Decreto Supremo DS 4568 thus amends the list of 2021 public holidays in Bolivia, as released earlier this year (2021-01-10).
