The Ministry of Labour of the Dominican Republic has issued an official communiqué confirming that, as per the current legislation on public holidays in the Dominican Republic, the upcoming "Juan Pablo Duarte" public holiday would be celebrated on Monday, January 25, 2021, instead of Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

The aforementioned announcement ("El Ministerio de Trabajo reitera a toda la colectividad empresarial y trabajadora del país que el natalicio del patricio Juan Pablo Duarte a celebrarse este martes 26 de enero, se trabaja y se cambia el feriado para el lunes 25 del mismo mes.") is in line with last autumn's official listing of public holidays in the Dominican Republic for the year 2021 (2020-11-20), and follows the 1997 "Ley No. 139-97 mediante la cual los días feriados del calendario que coincidan con los días martes y miércoles, jueves o viernes" (1997-06-19).
