The Ministry of Labour of the Dominican Republic has announced its annual list of non-working public holidays in the Dominican Republic for the upcoming calendar year 2022, based on the law 139-97 ("las fechas en que serán celebrados los días feriados durante el año 2022, dando cumplimiento a la Ley 139-97, la cual establece el traslado de los días feriados.").

The list of non-working public holidays in the Dominican Republic for the upcoming calendar year 2022, as announced by the Department of Public Relations and Communications of the Ministry of Labor of the Dominican Republic, refers itself to the 1997 "Ley No. 139-97 mediante la cual los días feriados del calendario que coincidan con los días martes y miércoles, jueves o viernes" (1997-06-19), as usual (2020-11-20, 2019-11-10, 2018-11-15, 2017-11-14, 2016-11-06, 2015-10-31, 2014-10-31, 2013-10-24, and 2012-11-27).

Attempts to amend the Ley No. 139-97 have been numerous, and have in some cases progressed far, adding Easter Monday as a new annual non-working public holidays in the Dominican Republic (2013-04-01), and trying to fix back to their set dates the January 6 and 26 annual non-working public holidays in the Dominican Republic (2016-10-18, 2014-12-02 and 2013-07-27), but never made it to final ratification.
