The States of Guernsey (the Guernsey Government) has overwhelmingly voted for the declaration of a one-off public holiday on Friday, June 3, 2022, to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, as well as the move of the late May bank holiday to Thursday, June 2, 2022.

The States of Guernsey (the Guernsey Government) published its official list of annual non-working public holidays in Guernsey, for the calendar year 2022, last summer (2021-08-28), without the inclusion of a public holiday for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee ("A Policy Letter is currently being drafted regarding bank holidays for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and will be submitted to the States of Deliberation in due course.").

Recall that, late last year (2020-11-12), the UK's culture secretary, Oliver Dowden, announced that an extra Platinum Jubilee public holiday would be declared on Friday, June 3, 2022, to mark Queen Elizabeth's 70th anniversary on the throne, which, combined with a shift of the 2022 spring bank holiday to Thursday, June 2, 2022, would create a 4-day period of bank holidays.

Since then, a few Commonwealth states and Crown Posessions have joined the UK in declaring a Platinum Jubilee public holiday (2021-11-02, 2021-10-29, 2021-10-21, 2021-08-28, 2021-08-06 and 2021-07-05).
