Haiti's Secrétaire Général de Ia Primature, Jude Charles Faustin, has issued a communique reminding the population that Monday, September 20, 2021, would be a public holiday in Haiti ("Ia Primature rappelle à l'attention du public en général, au secteur privé, et aux établissements scolaires en particulier que l’Administration publique, les écoles, le commerce et l'industrie chômeront le lundi 20 septembre 2021").

September 20 was decreed as a new annual public holiday in Haiti, to be observed as "Jour de Dessalines", by Haiti's President, Jovenel Moïse, a year ago, in a decree published in the September 18, 2020, edition of Haiti's official gazette (2020-09-18).
