The Minister of Tourism of Honduras, Nicol Marder, has announced that the 2021 Semana Morazánica public sector holidays would run from October 6 to October 10, 2021, inclusively, for the public sector of Honduras, while the Honduran private sector's public holidays is expected to soon be announced as running from October 6-7-8, 2021.

Recall that, last year, the Honduran government postponed the 2020 Semana Morazánica public holidays, a process that was lengthy and subject to many changes along the way (2020-12-17, 2020-11-21, 2020-11-04, 2020-11-02, 2020-09-17, 2020-09-12 and 2020-09-10).

The Semana Morazánica public holidays of Honduras come from the combination of 3 of Honduras' annual public holidays; on October 3 (Anniversary of Francisco Morazá), 12 (Discovery of America) and 21 (Armed Forces Day).

Due to their proximity in the calendar, these 3 annual October public holidays were often tinkered with, usually at the last minute (2013-10-03, 2013-09-24, 2012-10-06, 2012-10-01, 2011-09-30, 2003-04-09, 2008-10-25, 2007-10-03, 2006-10-02, and 2005-09-30).

Then, in 2014, the Decreto Legislativo No. 75-2014 del 29 de septiembre, put an end to the annual uncertainty by moving all 3 of Honduras' annual October non-working public holidays to the last week of October (2014-10-27, 2014-10-02, 2014-09-10 and 2014-09-05).

A year later, the Semana Morazánica public holidays were moved from the last week of October to the beginning of October (2015-08-14, 2015-08-05, 2015-12-12 and 2015-07-01).
