The representative of the National Association of Public Employees of Honduras (Andeph), César Chirinos, has come out against the recent proposal to postpone the upcoming Easter public holidays of Honduras to the last quarter of 2021 ("we consider that it is not opportune because they are cyclonic months and there is the Morazan Holiday for that date").

The aforementioned announcement by the representative of the National Association of Public Employees of Honduras follows, one, earlier this week by the private sector representative to Honduras' Mesa Multisectorial, Alden Rivera, who suggested postponing the upcoming Easter week public holidays, set to run from March 28 to April 3, 2021, to the end of 2021 (2021-02-15).

The annual Easter public holidays of Honduras are often extended for Honduras' public sector, to last for the entire full Holy Week (2019-04-05, 2018-03-19, 2017-04-06, 2016-03-16, 2015-03-21, 2012-03-14, 2011-04-12, 2010-03-10, 2009-04-03, 2008-03-15, 2007-03-28, and 2006-04-04)

The aforementioned suggestion mirrors last year's decision by the Honduran government to postpone the the 2020 Semana Morazánica public holidays, a process that was lengthy and subject to many changes along the way (2020-12-17, 2020-11-21, 2020-11-04, 2020-11-02, 2020-09-17, 2020-09-12 and 2020-09-10).
