Iraqi Adds March 6 Public Holiday

In the wake of Pope Francis' visit to Iraq, Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, has declared March 6 as a new annual public holiday in Iraq ("from now on, the National Day of Tolerance and Coexistence will be celebrated annually on 6 March, a holiday on which everyone is free").

Late last year, after years of Christmas Day being a semi-annual public holiday (2018-12-23 and 2013-12-24), the Iraqi Parliament approved a bill which making Christmas Day, on December 25, an annual public holiday in Iraq (2020-12-17).
