The government of the Ivory Coast, through its Ministère de l'Emploi, des Affaires Sociales et de la Solidarité Nationale, has announced that it had declared Monday, October 18, 2021, as the date of the annual national non-working public holiday on account of the upcoming 2021 Prophet's Birthday (Maouloud).

The aforementioned date of Monday, October 18, 2021, as the date of the jour férié et chômé sur toute l'étendue du territoire national on account of the upcoming Prophet's Birthday, seems based on the Umm al-Qora Islamic calendar as used in Saudi Arabia, as in past years (2020-10-28, 2018-11-19, 2018-05-29, 2017-06-24, 2016-07-05, 2015-07-16 and 2014-07-27) albeit with some exceptions (2018-06-13 and 2018-06-12).
