The Government of Jordan has officially confirmed that Sunday, April 11, 2021, would be a one-off public holiday in Jordan, to coincide with the centennial celebration of the founding of the Jordanian state ("to allow families the opportunity to enjoy the spring and quality time together, especially after they extended COVID-19 restrictions").
A one-off public holiday on April 11 had been jointly announced at the beginning of the year by the Jordanian Minister of State for Media Affairs, Ali Al-Ayed, and the Jordanian Minister of Culture, Bassem Al-Towaisi (2021-01-07).
The Sunday, April 11, 2021, public holiday, thus amends the list of religious and national non-working public holidays and bank holidays in Jordan for the calendar year 2021, as released last autumn (2020-10-30).
