Jordanian Prime Minister, Bisher Al-Khasawneh, has announced 3 upcoming official public holidays for Christians: Palm Sunday on Sunday April 25, 2021, and Easter Sunday and Monday on May 2nd and May 3rd, 2021.
Today's aforementioned declaration of 3 Easter-related public holidays in Jordan, is limited to Christians and is in addition to the list of official non-working public holidays and bank holidays in Jordan for the calendar year 2021, as released last autumn (2020-10-08).
In 2018, Jordan's then Prime Minister, Hani Mulki, had issued a circular similarly decreeing April 1, 8 and 9, 2018, as additional non-working public holidays in Jordan on account of the upcoming Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.
Jordanian Prime Minister, Abdullah Ensour, had issued similar circulars in preceding years (2017-04-06, 2016-04-16, 2015-04-10 and 2015-03-27), based on a 2012 decision by cabinet that Palm Sunday and Easter be declared as official non-working public holidays for Christians at "ministries, government departments and public institutions".
