The Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Government of Kyrgyzstan has announced that the upcoming public holiday of Eid al-Fitr (End of Ramadan) would be observed on Thursday, May 13, 2021 ("Thursday, May 13, is declared a day off in Kyrgyzstan due to Eid al-Fitr").

Today's announcement that upcoming public holiday of Eid al-Fitr would be observed on Thursday, May 13, 2021, is in line with last year's announcement by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Kyrgyzstan, of the non-working public holidays in Kyrgyzstan for the calendar year 2021 (2020-12-04).

Normally, as per the standing public holidays legislation of Kyrgyzstan, the month of May 2021 would have seen 2 other public holidays; on Monday, May 3, and on Monday, May 10, 2021.

But the expected Monday, May 3, 2021, public holiday was moved to January 8 (2021-04-01 and 2020-12-04), while the May 10 public holiday was moved to the end of August 2021, earlier this week (2021-05-05), "in order to rationally use weekends and non-working holidays".
