The Prime Minister’s Office of the government of Laos has released its annual official list of non-working public holidays in Laos for the upcoming calendar year 2021.

The aforementioned announcement does not address the issue of extending the usual annual 3-day Pi Mai public holiday, as none of these 3 days falls on a weekend in 2021, as often happened in past years (2020-01-04, 2019-01-08, 2016-12-19, 2015-12-18, 2014-12-10, 2013-12-27, 2013-01-28 and 2011-04-09), but not all (2017-12-16, 2012-04-05, 2012-01-17, 2009-04-10 and 2008-04-08).

This was the case, last year, in 2020, though later announcements, extending the duration of the Lao New Year public holidays, is always possible (2019-03-25, 2018-03-28, 2017-03-22, 2016-03-31, 2015-04-06, 2013-04-08 and 2012-04-05).
