Mozambique's Ministry of Labor and Social Security has announced a one-off non-working public sector holiday in Mozambique, on Thursday, May 13, 2021, for all workers, civil servants and citizens across the country, who profess the Islamic religion, on the occasion of the Ide Ul-Fitre celebration.

The declaration of one-off non-working public sector holidays (tolerância de ponto) is a relatively common feature of Mozambique's official public holidays calendar (2021-03-31, 2020-12-29, 2020-12-22, 2020-11-09, 2020-04-09, 2019-12-30, 2019-10-01, 2019-09-03, 2019-08-09, 2019-08-07, 2018-10-09, ...).

Mozambique's Labour Code gives the Minister of Labour the authority to declare one-off public holidays in Mozambique.
