Nicaragua's Vice-President, Rosario Murillo, has announced that Nicaraguan President, Daniel Ortega Saavedra, had authorized a decree declaring Monday, July 19, 2021, as a paid non-working public holiday on account of the upcoming "42nd anniversary of the Triumph of the Sandinista Revolution".

In the past, a one-off, non-working public holiday had often been adjoined, before or after, the annual, July 19, public holiday of Nicaragua (2020-07-15, 2016-07-12, 2015-07-14, 2012-07-14, 2010-07-09 and 2009-07-15), though not systematically (2017-07-10, 2014-07-15 and 2013-07-13).

But this was not necessary in 2021.
