Punjab Rules-Out Bhai Jaita Ji Public Holiday On December 23

Earlier today, a spokesperson for the Government of India's state of Punjab, announced that Punjab's Chief Minister, Charanjit Singh Channi, the state government had not declared a gazetted or a restricted holiday on the date of the upcoming Martyrdom Day of Bhai Jaita Ji, which will be December 23, 2021.

The same spokesperson went on to recall that in its just-released Government Order 06/01/2021/2PP3/1372 containing the list of 2022 Punjab public holidays (2021-12-10), the state government had declared September 5, 2022, as a government holiday on account of the Janam Divas of Baba Jeevan Singh ji.
