The Samoan Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour (Matagaluega о Pisinisi, Alamanuia ma Leipa - MCIL), in a public notice signed by the Chief Executive Officer, Pttlotu Lупdоп Chu Liпg, has confirmed that Monday, May 10, 2021 would be a public holiday in Samoa on account of Mother's Day ("o le a avea le Aso Gafua, 10 Me 2021, ma Aso Malolo mo tagata urna mo le fa'amamaluina ma le fa'amanatuina o le Aso Sa o Tina 2021").
The aforementioned announcement states that "In accordance with section 2 of the Public Holidays Act 2008, the public, government agencies, and the private sector are hereby advised that Monday, 10lh May 2021 is to be treated as a Public Holiday for Mother's Day Holiday" and is in line with the latest updated list of public holidays in Samoa for the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, as most recently re-released (2021-01-04).
The Mother's Day public notice goes on to state that "Shops selling goods may open during Public Holidays in accordance with the provisions of the Public Holiday Act 2008".
