The Samoan Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour (Matagaluega о Pisinisi, Alamanuia ma Leipa - MCIL), in a public notice signed by the Chief Executive Officer, Pttlotu Lупdоп Chu Liпg, has announced that Tuesday, June 1st, 2021 would be a public holiday in Samoa on account of "the country's 59th year of independence".

The aforementioned announcement states that "In accordance with section 2 of the Public Holidays Act 2008, the public, government agencies, and the private sector are hereby advised that Tuesday, 1 June 2021 is to be treated as a Public Holiday to commemorate Samoa's Independence" and is in line with the latest updated list of public holidays in Samoa for the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, as most recently re-released (2021-01-04).
