A public notice from the Office of the President, State House in Freetown, announced the declaration of Thursday, May 13, 2021, as a public holiday in Sierra Leone, in observance of the upcoming Eid ul-Fitri (End of Ramadan).
The aforementioned announcement reads: "The General Public is hereby informed that the Feast of Eid-Ul-Fitri, marking the end of Ramadan will be observed on Thursday 13h May 2021. Accordingly, Thursday 13th May 2021, will be a Public Holiday throughout the country".
The declaration of Thursday, May 13, 2021, as a public holiday in Sierra Leone, is in line with the list of official non-working public holidays in Sierra Leone for the calendar year 2021, as announced by the government of Sierra Leone, late last year (2020-12-28).
