The Solomon Islands Ministry for Home Affairs has released the list of annual non-working public holidays in the Solomon Islands for the upcoming calendar year 2022.

The aforementioned announcement of the list of annual non-working public holidays in the Solomon Islands for the upcoming year 2022 also contains the list of Provincial Public Holidays in 2022 in the Solomon Islands, as was the case in past years (2020-12-28, 2019-12-26, 2018-12-26, 2017-12-08, 2016-12-19 and 2015-12-15).

To the aforementioned list of 2022 public holidays in the Solomon Islands, we can expect the later declaration of one-off public holidays, usually on the occasion of elections (2020-11-16, 2019-04-01, 2014-12-08, 2014-11-13, 2010-08-24, 2010-08-20, 2010-08-16, 2010-07-28), but not always (2019-12-22).

Note that this initial list of Solomon Islands public holidays for 2022 contains a one-off change in the date of the Queen's Birtday public holiday, to Thursday, June 2, 2022, presumably on account of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Late last year (2020-11-12), the UK announced that an extra Platinum Jubilee public holiday would be declared on Friday, June 3, 2022, to mark Queen Elizabeth's 70th anniversary on the throne, and since then, a few Commonwealth states and Crown Posessions have joined the UK in declaring a Platinum Jubilee public holiday (2021-11-30, 2021-11-05, 2021-10-29, 2021-10-21, 2021-08-28, 2021-08-06 and 2021-07-05).
