Telangana Moves Muharram Public Holidays To August 19-20

The chief executive officer of the government of the Indian State of Telangana has declared Friday, August 20, 2021, as the general public holiday on account of Muharram, and has also declared Thursday, August 19, 2021, as an optional holiday.
As per the state's Chief Secretary, Somesh Kumar: "The government, after careful consideration, decided to declare an optional holiday on 19 August on occasion of 9th Muharram and a general holiday on 20 August on account of 10th Muharram".
The move from August 18-19 to August 19-20, 2021, of the Muharram public holidays, in the Indian State of Telangana, thus further amends (2021-04-07, 2021-03-05, 2021-01-11 and 2020-12-14) the list of 2021 public holidays in Telangana, as it was initially announced in the Notification "HOLIDAYS- General Holidays and Optional Holidays for the year 2021 – Notified." (G.O.Rt.No.1756 dated 09.11.2020), last autumn (2020-11-10).
