The President of Transdniestria, Vadim Nikolaevich Krasnoselsky, has announced that Friday, December 31, 2021, had been declared a one-off public holiday in Transdniestria ("which will have to be worked out later").

As per President Krasnoselsky's announcement, "Experience shows that, although December 31 is considered a working day, in practice it is not. I instructed the government to formalize the transfer, having decided on the date of an additional working day next year.".

Today's declaration of Friday, December 31, 2021, as a public holiday in the Transdniestrian Moldovan Republic (Pridnestrovskaia Moldavskaia Respublika) thus further amends (2020-12-28) the list of public holidays for the calendar year 2021, as released in accordance with article 112 of the Labor Code of the Pridnestrovskaia Moldavskaia Respublika, last spring (2020-05-14).

The aforementioned additional public holiday will be compensated by the declaration of an unspecified Saturday of 2022 as a regular working day, as is often the case (2020-04-20, 2019-12-25, 2019-05-29, 2018-06-15, 2017-12-20, 2017-05-01, 2016-07-08, 2015-09-20 and 2012-12-27), but not always (2014-12-15 and 2013-12-30).
