Turkmenistan Releases 2022 Public Holidays Calendar

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Turkmenistan has released the list of 2022 public holidays in Turkmenistan as part of its production calendar for 2022 (производственный календарь на 2022 год).

Recall that the Labour Code of Turkmenistan does not specify any systematic compensation when any of Turkmenistan's public holidays falls on a weekend.

However, paragraph 3 of Article 81 of the said Labour Code gives the President the discretionary powers to do so on a case-by-case basis, something that President Berdimuhammadov has done more and more frequently over past years (2021-03-19, 2020-09-24, 2020-05-23, 2018-08-21, 2017-08-30, 2013-10-25, 2012-12-22, 2012-02-11, 2011-12-30, 2010-12-10, 2010-03-19 and 2009-11-10), with a hiatus in 2019.
