The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the chief human resources agency and personnel policy manager for the US Federal Government, has released a revised list of the federal public holidays in the USA for the calendar year 2021.
The amended list of 2021 federal public sector holidays now includes Juneteenth National Independence Day on Friday, June 18, 2021, with the following footnote: "June 19, 2021 (the legal public holiday for Juneteenth National Independence Day), falls on a Saturday. For most Federal employees, Friday, June 18, will be treated as a holiday for pay and leave purposes. (See 5 U.S.C. 6103(b).)".
Note, however, that despite federal public sector holidays having already been announced up to and until 2030 (2020-12-08), the online listing of federal public sector holidays does not include Juneteenth National Independence Day in any of the years 2022-2030. This might be corrected at one point.
US federal public sector holidays contains all the usual public holidays, generally observed in the US banking and financial sectors (2019-01-12) as well as in many of the larger private sector companies.
