The Government of Uzbekistan has confirmed that the upcoming public holidays for the 30th anniversary of the independence of Uzbekistan would run from September 1st to September 5th, 2021, inclusively.

The official public holidays in Uzbekistan for the calendar year 2021, was elaborated in many stages, over the autumn of 2020, culminating in the decree Об установлении дополнительных нерабочих дней в период празднования официальных дат и переносе выходных дней в 2021 году, which already included 3 one-off non-working public holidays (2020-12-03, 2020-10-19 and 2020-10-13).

A few months later, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed an extended version of that earlier decree "On the establishment of additional non-working days during the celebration of official dates and the transfer of days off in 2021", which further extended the list of 2021 public holidays in Uzbekistan (2021-07-13).

That extended decree specified that some Saturdays were to be non-working days for all workers ("суббота 2 января, суббота 20 марта, понедельник 22 марта и суббота 4 сентября 2021 года являются нерабочими днями для всех работников, независимо от вида рабочей недели"), and additionally declared 4 additional one-off public holidays in Uzbekistan in 2021, leading to the upcoming September 1-5 public holidays for the 30th anniversary of the independence of Uzbekistan.
