The Minister of Labour and of the Public Service of the government of Benin, Alayi Adidjatou Mathys, has released a communiqué announcing that Sunday, May 1st, 2022, had been declared a non-working public holiday throughout the Bénin on account of the Labour Day.
As per the aforementioned communiqué, signed by its Cabinet Director, "Conformément aux dispositions de la loi n°90-019 du 27 juillet 1990, fixant les fêtes légales en République du Bénin, le gouvernement a déclaré la journée du dimanche 1er mai 2022 fériée, chômée et payée sur toute l’étendue du territoire national.".
The declaration of Sunday, May 1st, 2022, as a public holiday throughout the Bénin, is in line with the list of annual non-working public holidays in the Benin for the calendar year 2022 (2022-01-02) and with the "loi n°90-019 du 27 juillet 1990 fixant les fêtes légales en République du Bénin".
