Cameroon's President, Paul Biya, has issued the decree 0317 declaring Tuesday, May 3, 2022, as a public holiday in the Cameroon on account of the day in lieu for the Labour Day public holiday and the 2022 End of Ramadan public holiday falling on the same date, May 2nd.
The aforementioned announcement does not provide a specific justification for the declaration of Tuesday, May 3, 2022, as a public holiday in the Cameroon, merely stating: "La journée du mardi 3 mai 2022 est déclarée fériée sur toute l'étendue de la République du Cameroun".
As was done on previous occasions when the President of Cameroon issued a day in lieu public holiday (2021-08-12, 2021-05-12, 2020-05-23 and 2019-08-09), this amends the list of 2022 public holidays in the Cameroon as announced at the beginning of this year (2022-01-08).
