Gambia Extends 2022 Labour Day And Eid-ul-Fitr Public Holidays

The President of the Gambia, Adama Barrow, has declared Monday and Tuesday, May 2 and 3, 2022, as a non-working public holidays throughout Gambia, to mark Labour Day and Eid-ul-Fitr.

The aforementioned announcement continues as follows: "Official work resumes on Wednesday, 4th May 2022".

The declaration of a day in lieu public holiday on Monday, May 2, 2022, is in line with recent practice (2021-12-23). However, contrary to last year (2021-05-11), this year's Eid-ul-Fitr public holiday was not extended to a second or third day.
