The President of the Gambia, Adama Barrow, has declared Friday and Monday, April 15 and 18, 2022, as non-working public holidays throughout the Republic of The Gambia, on account of the upcoming Good Friday and Easter Monday festivals.

The preamble to the aforementioned announcement form the State House read as follows: "In accordance with the provisions of section 76 (1) of the Constitution (1997) of the Republic of The Gambia, the Office of the President informs the general public that Friday 15th and Monday 18th April 2022 are declared public holidays throughout the country, in observance of the Christian Holy feast of Easter".

The declaration of Friday and Monday, April 15 and 18, 2022, as non-working public holidays throughout the Republic of The Gambia, on account of the upcoming Good Friday and Easter Monday, is in line with past years' announcements (2021-03-30, 2020-04-07, 2018-03-28, 2016-03-23, 2011-04-21 and 2008-03-19).

However, contrary to last year's announcement (2021-03-30), there was no error in the date of Easter Monday in this year's announcement.
